Membership Tips

  1. Tip #1 – Communication – Newsletters

You can be the best outreach PR for your alliance, whether it is a membership benefit or a recruitment tool. Newsletters are the Alliances’ best way to communicate with the community whether they are members of the alliance or not. By reading your newsletter, people will have a better overview of who you are and what your goals are in the community to promote good health habits. It can be your outreach to the community for volunteers to help on projects. It can include information such as upcoming events and membership recognition. Articles should highlight accomplishments, projects and activities. A non members should be able to read the newsletter
Make your newsletter your PR project so that people will want to be a members and determine the Alliance’s mission and goals and then who to contact for more information.

  2. Tip #2 – Alliance Health Projects

The Alliance does make a difference! With the number of projects each one of our counties has adopted, there is someone in that county that has benefited. Whether it is a non-smoking campaign, a bicycle helmet project, “Not Even for Minute” child safety poster project, promoting the “Journey Safe” project to help save the lives of teens and children. These are not just alliance projects, they can be partnered with Rotary, parent-teacher organizations, or a youth community outreach project. By including these ideas with other community organizations, and as members of the Alliance, you can promote the Alliance as another caring organization that can is a fulfilling and important organization in the community.
