Grant Proposal Guidelines & Application
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT GRANT APPLICATIONS - MARCH 1, 2012
The California Medical Association Alliance Foundation was created in 1989. It’s 501c(3) non-profit status benefits the CMAA and County Alliances by providing monetary for health-oriented projects. To date the CMAA Foundation has donated over $90,000 in grants to local Alliances.
Past County Alliance projects have included: Childhood Obesity, ADD, Breast and Prostate Cancer Awareness, Stroke Awareness, Anti-Violence education, information for parents and children on Bullying, Helmet Safety, and most recently, “Screen Out”, a program dedicated to the elimination of smoking in film and television productions.
The CMAA Foundation also provides grants to the CMAA itself to underwrite informational lectures at the State Leadership Conferences so that members may be educated and return to their communities with current health information.
Tax-deductible contributions are both needed and welcomed. 10% of all unrestricted donations will be applied to the Foundation Endowment Fund to ensure our continued growth and stability. All donations are deductible to the extent permitted by law.
All County Alliances may apply for a Foundation grant for health projects that may need financial assistance. In addition, we would like to give a huge “THANK YOU” to Lily Banisadre & Family and Lois Norling & Family for their generous support of the Foundation.
The Banisadre Award ($500 Annual) is awarded to projects that promote either:
1. Solutions to alter aggressive and/or violent behavior in the classroom
2. Education toward recognition and resolution of adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and/or Learning Disabilities
The Norling Fund ($100 Annually) is awarded to Medical families in immediate financial crisis (All information is strictly confidential).
