About the Alliance

The California Medical Association Alliance is a non-profit, volunteer organization established in 1929 that is an affiliate of the California Medical Association. Our membership consists of physician spouses, physicians, domestic partners, physicians-in- training, and family/friends of medicine. Currently, there are 2000 members.

The CMA Alliance is a part of a federation that includes County Alliances and the American Medical Association Alliance. There are 15 active County Alliances. These Alliances provide leadership and resources for community health education and services in their respective communities.

Mission:”To increase the ability of Californians to improve their own health.”

We accomplish this by:

• Developing leaders at the county level
• Educating people on health and advocacy issues
• Connecting national, state, and local entities
• Partnering with the medical community, the public sector, and private enterprise
• Supporting the medical family

The California Medical Association Alliance Foundation was created in 1989. It’s 501c(3) non-profit status benefits the CMAA and County Alliances by providing monetary for health-oriented projects. To date the CMAA Foundation has donated over $90,000 in grants to aid local County Alliances in their health promotions within their community, medical-related scholarships.
